Glenarm Cruise In Company
An excellent weekend was enjoyed by all who attended this rally.
Cruising folk made their way to Glenarm early in order to enjoy the best of the weather. Thereafter preparations got underway. The shed being prepared with tables, chairs, flowers and candles for the tables, BBQ., hotplate, lighting along with ambient music et al. Such hard work prompted light refreshments.
The arrival of the racing fleet prompted the Rear Commodore Gregg Taylor to welcome one and all by hosting a reception on board Blue Squirrel. Local berth holders being made most welcome.
The BYO Formula as always worked well with El Torro being the first crew to the hot plate! Music and dancing followed before the more hardy felt the need to contribute to the local economy with late visits to the local hostleries.
Events like this are only a success with the contribution of a lot of hard work in the background. We remain thankful to the ladies who prepared the tables with flowers from the forest, Stephen Graham who provided the music and not least Billy McCauley harbour master at Glenarm without whom the entire event would not have happened.
Lastly thanks to all who attended and made this what was a great nights craic! Sunday morning came early for most along with a safe passage homeward.
The next Cruise in Company is to Strangford taking in a BBQ at Strangford Sailing Club, Visit to Castleward and an evening meal at the Cuan Restaurant. Full details are available here
