Boat owners are reminded that in order to calculate their race results an up to date handicap appropriate for the class they are racing in is required.
Royal Ulster Yacht Club has a strong tradition of cruising with members’ boats travelling along the coasts of Ireland, West Coast of Scotland, Isle of Man, Wales, France and Spain and occasionally further afield. Some of our members also keep their boats overseas but still maintain strong links with their cruising friends in the Irish Cruising Club, the Clyde Cruise Club and Ballyholme Yacht Club.
Each year several short Cruises in Company are organised to destinations in Ireland and Scotland and harbours visited recently have included Portpatrick, Glenarm, Gigha, Campbelltown, Ardglass and Ballycastle and Rathlin Island.
The cruise logs are submitted by early February and are evaluated by a Guest Judge who summarises the logs and announces the winners each year at the Cruising Dinner. Trophies for the following categories are awarded:
- Best Log - Longship Trophy
- Best Cruise - Viscount Bangor Trophy
- Best Motor Cruise - Crawford Bowl
Keep an eye on our Cruising Events page for details of this season's cruises.
